PRIVACY POLICY

1. WHO WE ARE

Draft Punk is a writing tracker and productivity app developed by Sulk Media. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is protected.

2. DATA WE COLLECT

Account data — When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. This is used to identify your account and display your name in the app.

Username — You choose a unique username when you first sign in. This is displayed on leaderboards and to friends.

Writing content — Chapters, beat notes, and character notes you create are stored and synced to your account. This data is private to you unless you explicitly share a chapter with a friend.

Word counts and progress data — Your writing totals, daily/weekly/monthly/yearly stats, and project goals are stored to power the tracker and leaderboard features.

Social data — Friend connections you create, friend requests you send or receive, and messages you send or receive are stored in our database.

Shared content — If you share a chapter with a friend, that chapter's content is stored and made accessible to that specific friend until you revoke the share.

Technical data — Basic error data (stack traces, browser version) may be collected via Sentry if you experience a crash. No personal data is included in error reports.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

To provide and sync the app across your devices
To display your progress on the leaderboard (username and word counts only)
To enable social features: friends, messaging, and chapter sharing
To diagnose and fix technical errors
To prevent abuse via bot protection (reCAPTCHA)

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to any third party.

4. WHAT IS VISIBLE TO OTHERS

All signed-in users can see your username and word count totals on the leaderboard.
Friends only can see content you explicitly share with them, and messages you send them.
Private: your writing, notes, characters, and email address are never visible to other users.

5. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access is controlled by security rules that restrict each user to their own data.

A local copy of your data is also stored on your device using browser localStorage to enable offline use.

6. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Google Firebase — Authentication, database, and hosting. Firebase Privacy Policy

Sentry — Crash reporting (no personal data). Sentry Privacy Policy

7. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

Access your data — use the Backup feature to export everything
Delete your account and all associated data — available in the ··· menu → Account → Delete Account, or via our account deletion page
Portability — your data can be exported as JSON at any time
Correction — contact us if you believe any data is inaccurate

8. DATA RETENTION

Your data is retained until you delete your account. Deleted account data is removed from our systems within 30 days. Backup/export copies stored locally on your device are your responsibility.

9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Draft Punk is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Significant changes will be communicated within the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
